App Store Preview Video Requirements
App Store Preview videos need to meet Apple’s size, length and format requirements before they can be uploaded to App Store Connect.
Recommended Video Size
App Store Preview videos should match the device size and orientation you are submitting for. For many modern iPhone previews, a common portrait size is 886 × 1920 px.
Tip
Landscape previews use the same size with width and height swapped, for example 1920 × 886 px.
Video Length
App Store Preview videos should be between 15 and 30 seconds. Keep the video focused on the most important app interactions and remove long pauses before uploading.
File Format
- Use .mov or .mp4.
- Use H.264 video encoding.
- Audio is optional, but unsupported or corrupted audio can cause an upload error.
Common Upload Errors
Incorrect video dimensions
If App Store Connect rejects the video size, resize the recording to the required preview dimensions for the selected device.
Unsupported or corrupted audio
If your original recording has no audio, adding a valid silent audio track can help avoid audio-related upload errors.
Video is too long
Keep the preview between 15 and 30 seconds. Trim slow sections, loading screens and unnecessary pauses before uploading.
Next step
If your simulator recording has the wrong dimensions or causes an audio error, use the App Store Preview tool to resize and prepare it before uploading to App Store Connect.
